The mountain

The mountain series was born in the early stages of maternity, at a time when I returned to my studio and back to work with my art. I was edge of the past and future, more than ever before. It was a time when I dreamed of the past and waited for the future; I was unaware of how artistry and motherhood would eventually unite. I felt more free than I could ever dream of and at the same time more tied to this moment than ever before.

The work is made on a ceramic plate, and coloured with various glazes and engopes. Behind the work is a table hook.

Vuori -sarja

2017-2018

Vuori -sarja syntyi äitiyden alkutaipaleella, aikana, jolloin palasin työhuoneelleni ja takaisin taiteen pariin. Olin menneen ja tulevan rajapinnalla enemmän kuin koskaan ennen. Ajassa, jolloin haaveilin menneestä ja odotin tulevaa, epätietoisena siitä, miten taiteilijuus ja äitiys lopulta yhdistyisivät. Tunsin olevani vapaampi kuin koskaan ennen ja samalla sidotumpi tähän hetkeen, kuin millonkaan aikaisemmin.

Teos on kaiverrettu keramiikkalautaselle, ja sävytetty erilaisin lasittein ja engopein. Teoksen takana on taulukoukku, jonka avulla teos voidaan ripustaa.
